In Nepal there is no social security or health insurance system, every patient has to pay the full charge. Due to the prevalent low socio-economic status in the Nepalese society, only few patients are able to pay for their medical bills. The concept of medical and accidental insurance is just arriving here in Nepal and one can only imagine a significant change in the scenario in the coming future. The hospital's motto has been that of service to the under-privileged since the very beginning and we have made every effort to ensure that charity is afforded to the neediest. Charity has been granted to almost 21% of our patients and the amount also comes to around 20% of our total revenue.
In 2010, the hospital's charity amount came to NRs. 43,00,000. There is a charity processing unit where patients are assesed by our administrative staff and they are given partial or full charity according to need.
